Produced by Limelight Entertainment, Bend's popular Cocktail Cabaret re-opens the Tower for an intimate, live two-night event featuring eleven of Central Oregon’s preeminent voices performing 17 of Oscar’s favorite Academy Award nominated and winning songs. Think of it as an award show and after-party rolled into one!
Presented by the nonprofit Tower Theatre Foundation, the weekend cabarets are hosted by veteran Tower performer and Limelight Entertainment principal Brad Ruder (Les Miz, A Chorus Line, Bend Follies). Multi-talented pianist and musical director Scott Michaelsen accompanies a stellar line-up of local entertainers in a stirring revue of songs that have been part of American movie soundtracks since 1955, including:
Shantae Knorr “Into the Unknown” (Frozen 2) Ryan Klontz & Audrey Pennington “Beauty and the Beast” Stephen Wagner & Erik McGinnis “Man or Muppet” (The Muppets) Rick & Tara Johnson “Shallow” (A Star Is Born – 2018) Dan Schimmoller “Mean Green Mother From Outer Space” (Little Shop of Horrors) Kara Klontz “Thoroughly Modern Millie” Jarod Gatley “You’ll Be in My Heart” (Tarzan) Mollie Tennant “Evergreen” (A Star is Born – 1976)
Funding for this program made possible in part by the Oregon Cultural Trust Creativity Grant
Our reopening plan adheres to guidance from Governor Brown, the Oregon Health Authority, and Deschutes County Health Services.
