There is No “Planet B”: Tracking Earth’s Changing Climate from Space

with Michael Freilich, former director of NASA’s Earth Science Division

Tickets:  General Admission $7.50, Limited Free Student tickets

*Free student tickets are limited and may be picked up 8 a.m. to  5 p.m., Monday – Friday at the Enrollment Services Offices, OSU-Cascades, Tykeson Hall, 1500 SW Chandler Ave., Bend. For information call 541-322-3100.

Fleets of NASA satellites capture images and data about Earth’s ocean, land and atmosphere. But can humans act on the powerful information we learn from them? Join oceanographer, educator and former NASA science administrator Michael Freilich to learn about the spaceborne tools that monitor our planet -- from as far as a million miles away and as near as the International Space Station --  and what they tell us about our changing planet.

You’ll learn about humans’ extraordinary technological and scientific abilities, and our profound responsibility to protect our planet in the face of climate change.

Dr. Freilich is donating his time for this event. Ticket sales support venue rental and other event costs.
