RAISE ME UP!

An A Cappella Evening, featuring Bend Camerata, Mind the Gap, and Peter Hollens at the 4th Annual Bend A Cappella Festival

Tickets:  Reserved Seating $27, $37

Tower Theatre, Downtown Bend

The 11-voice ensemble Bend Camerata (Central Oregon's premier vocal chamber ensemble) and University of Oregon’s 13-member co-ed group Mind the Gap (three-time winners of the Bend A Cappella Festival Sing-Off) give audience members and singers alike a sampling of the range and beauty of a cappella music — from its English and Italian roots to today’s contemporary “state of the aca-art.”

A cappella pioneer and internationally known YouTube vocalist Peter Hollens returns, this time to produce, perform and record with Festival registrants an exclusive one-of-a-kind video. Hollens - backed by an auditorium of 250 fervent Festival vocalists - leads a live, public videotaping of a custom a cappella arrangement of "You Raise Me Up.” With more than five million followers and subscribers on YouTube, Peter’s bi-weekly videos have topped one billion views over seven years. His crew, One Voice Productions, will stage and videotape the Grammy-nominated Josh Groban number at the Tower, then unveil its world premiere online just a few weeks later. (Due to unexpected circumstances, Peter will only perform “You Raise Me Up” for the taping). A native Oregonian with family in Bend, Peter is excited by this endeavor. “I want to give an unforgettable experience to these singers, something they can show their family and children forever.”

This promises to be a memorable, exciting night of music. We’re thrilled to offer this rare chance to experience a broad range of a cappella – from its origins through what I call its digital future – all in one place on one amazing night!

Art In Nature: Bend Camerata

The a cappella adventure continues Sunday, Feb. 10, with a one-of-a-kind snowshoe trip to a natural amphitheater in Deschutes National Forest and an outdoor performance by Bend Camerata. Get details and register now!

The Bend A Cappella Festival is made possible in part by a grant from the Bend Cultural Tourism Fund, and Performance Sponsors Doug and Marianne Watson, Wanderlust Tours and Beach Hut Deli.
