Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience
Live At The Tower! Reserved seating, donation-based tickets, doors open at 4 pm.
The safety of Tower patrons, staff, volunteers and performers is of paramount importance. With continuing COVID-19 cases and illness, plus evolving industry norms and best practices, the Tower Theatre now requires proof of full vaccination for entry to all performances. Those not fully vaccinated, ages 12 and up, must show proof of a negative result from an approved COVID test taken within 72 hours of the performance. “Fully vaccinated” means receiving the final vaccination dose of Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson at least 14 days before the performance date. All patrons need to provide this information as a condition of entry. Based on Oregon mandates, mask wearing is also required inside the venue by everyone 5 and up, regardless of vaccination status.
These protocols are subject to review and change according to federal, state and county recommendations and guidelines.
Visit our COVID 19 Updates section of our website for full details.
For 40 years, two- time GRAMMY award winning artist Terrance Simien and 8th generation Louisiana Creole, has been shattering the myths about what his indigenous Zydeco roots music is – and is not.
Leading his Zydeco Experience bandmates – long time members Danny Williams, keyboards and Stan Chambers, bass with Lance Ellis, sax; Ian Molinaro – Thompson, drums, and our newest member, Revon Andrews on trombone.
Simien has become one of the most respected and accomplished artists in American roots music today. He and his band mates have performed over 9000 concerts, toured millions of miles to over 45 countries during their eventful career.
In 2021 Terrence Simien led the effort to have Allen Toussaint’s “Southern Nights” become the first Louisiana state song ever written by an African American artist/composer. A very big deal!
Terrence Simien was also the recipient of the prestigious Foundation for Louisiana Worldmakers unrestricted grant with priority to BIPOC artists. He was one of 30 awarded out of 360 applications and the only from his part of the state and genre.
Simien caps his fall tour of the Northwest at the Tower with a special family-friendly Mardi Gras-style Halloween party. Costumes encouraged - as is dancing in the aisles! A rare opportunity to share the good time feel of authentic Zydeco. Laissez le bon temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!). This one-hour show is a pay-what-you-can presentation.
