On February 21, 2013 at the Tower Theater, KIDS in the GAME is presenting Courage for Kids, a night of inspiration where you will hear the stories of two Bend dads who undertook incredible challenges to achieve their dreams while raising awareness and funds to help kids in need.
Brian Grossman, one of the founders of KIDS in the GAME, pursued his 15-year bucket list dream to participate in the Marathon des Sables, a 7-day ordeal in the Sahara Desert known as the “Toughest Footrace on Earth”.
Eric Plantenberg, dreamed of climbing Mt. Everest for 8 years and in 2011 watched the sunrise from the "roof of the world."
Their dreams were fueled by passion for self-exploration, extreme challenge, and a mission to help kids. Guests will hear their amazing stories and join in support of underprivileged youth. Guests will learn what motivated them, how they prepared, the challenges they faced and what they learned along the way. Get ready for a fun, inspirational and heart-warming night.
All the benefits from this event will go to KIDS in the GAME (KITG), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (www.kidsinthegame.org / Tax ID: 27-1723872), with a mission of inspiring kids to thrive in life through sports. We provide financial assistance to help youth from low-income families, youth that are physically or developmentally challenged, and kids that are "at-risk" gain access to sports programs.
