Presented in Celebration of the Tower's 85th Anniversary!
We’re rolling back ticket prices and giving away birthday cake! Join this weeklong celebration of Central Oregon’s iconic venue and re-experience eight cinematic blockbusters from each decade the Tower was an active movie theater. Start with the 1941 Bogart classic “The Maltese Falcon” and 1944 Saturday matinee serial “Captain America”. Wrap it up with the 1981 “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and 1994’s “Forrest Gump.”
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954; 80 minutes)
In this quintessential Universal Pictures monster movie, a group of scientists try to capture a prehistoric beast lurking in the depths of the Amazon and bring the “Gill-man” to civilization, where “every man is his mortal enemy and woman’s beauty his prey!”
Captain America Serial—Episode 2 (1944; 16 minutes)
The 15-chapter weekly series was the first theatrical appearance of a Marvel Comics character, and the most expensive serial Republic Studios ever made. The masked Captain America (aka District Attorney Grant Gardner) attempts to solve a rash of high-profile suicides induced by the hypnotic chemical “Purple Death,” and thwart the evil Scarab’s plans to deploy super-weapons "Dynamic Vibrator" and "Electronic Firebolt.”
