Chris Goldfinger, a marine geologist and geophysicist at Oregon State University, will discuss the science behind leading theories that a major earthquake will hit the Oregon coast in the next 50 years. Goldfinger is one of the world’s leading experts on subduction zone earthquakes. He’ll share lessons learned from recent major earthquakes in Japan and Chile and explain how the Northwest is prepared for the big one – and how it isn't.
