Dean Cummings "The Steep Life"

The Association of Professional Patrollers welcomes big mountain skier, guide and Alaska heli-skiing pioneer Dean Cummings

Dean will present his award-winning avalanche education program, Steep Life Protocols, and screen his new film “Chugach,” which documents the implementation of safety protocols to achieve lifelong first descents.

A pioneer of Alaskan helicopter skiing, Dean is the owner, operator and head guide of H20 Guides. His experience and diligence in developing the highest standards in guiding and education have allowed him to secure permits on the largest tract of heli-ski terrain in North America and build his dream of sharing adventures in the unspeakably beautiful Chugach Range of Alaska with the world. Today, H2O Guides operates a world-class remote helicopter guiding operation that not only plays host to top mountaineers, skiers and boarders from around the globe but makes the same amazing terrain accessible to anyone wishing to challenge the untouched powder of these matchless and majestic mountains.
