Did you know that Oregon has the fourth worst high school graduation rate in the nation? Research shows that children succeed when they feel loved, safe and connected. To succeed in the classroom, children need meaningful relationships outside the classroom. To close the achievement gap, we must close the relationship gap. Big Brothers Big Sisters has a solution but we cannot change these statistics without your help.
Big Brothers Big Sisters has been in Central Oregon since 1994 serving 200 children each year by matching each child with a caring, stable adult mentor. Children linked to a mentor are more likely to attend school regularly, have positive self-esteem, have better peer to peer relationships and perform better in the classroom. You can redefine what is possible for children in our community with a sponsorship of the 17th Annual Comedy Benefit.
