A May Day for Family Kitchen featuring Jennifer Johns

Jennifer Johns is an Artivist (artist +activist) who is dedicated to raising awareness around food justice and local sustainable economies through her initiative, GO LIV.

The issue of food security includes sustainability of production, availability of healthy food, and fair wages. Family Kitchen is a 27 year-old feeding the hungry program in Bend, currently serving 5,000 free meals per month. 

The standout songstress has toured with and opened shows for some of the most respected names in the industry including Lauryn Hill, Black Eyed Peas, Mos Def, Common, KRS-1, Les Nubian, Blackalicious, Zap Mama, Res, Capelton, Bebel Gilberto, Talib Kweli and Black Thought of The Roots, to name a few. Johns music abounds with experiences that are both familiar and inspiring.
