Here's a great way to kick off your 4th of July holiday week. The TONY Award winning musical, "1776" will be presented in concert by Shore Thing Productions to benefit The Tower Theatre Foundation for only three performances: June 29 & 30 at 7:00 p.m. and July 1 at 2:00 p.m. The "revolutionary" all female cast of twenty-four performers will feature some of the best singers in Central Oregon accompanied by a full orchestra.

Reserved seat tickets are $20.00 each and can be purchased at the Tower Theatre box office or web site.

The musical, with a score by Sherman Edwards, features a book by award winning playwright Peter Stone. The powerful story focuses on the heated debates between members of the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence including John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania as well as Thomas Jefferson of Virginia. "1776" brings American history to life through dialog based on the writings of these figures as well as music and songs. These national icons are seen as proud, frightened, uncertain, irritable, charming, often petty and ultimately noble figures determined to do the right thing for a fledgling nation.
