As part of the second season of its Marquee Series, sponsored by U.S. Bank and featuring live theater productions, the Tower Theatre Foundation brings the premiere of Monty Python’s Tony-winning musical “Spamalot” to Bend September 13-21, 2013. Produced by Stage Right Productions, with book and lyrics by Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, “Spamalot” retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, featuring a bevy of beautiful show girls, cows, killer rabbits, and French people. The “no-holds-barred smash hit” (New Yorker) was lovingly ripped-off from the 1975 film comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”

Stage Right Productions is a recently-formed nonprofit company supporting local performing arts through 2nd Street Theater in Bend. Stage Right has produced Working, Evil Dead the Musical and Sordid Lives. “We are thrilled to be included in the Marquee Series and to bring such a colorful, hilarious and incredibly silly show to the Tower,” says Sandy Klein of Stage Right Productions/2ndStreet Theater. “There are so many talented people in our community; we’re looking forward to finding our Lancelot, Arthur, Lady of the Lake, and Black Knight!”

“Spamalot” will be directed by David DaCosta, whose recent directorial credits include Working, Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins, Richard III, Oleanna and Sordid Lives.

“Presented through special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide”
