Tower Welcomes Its 300,000th Patron

Bend’s historic downtown theatre is making history of its own. During the recent Advertising Federation of Central Oregon (AdFed) Bend WebCAM (Web + Creative and Marketing) conference, the landmark venue welcomed its 300,000th attendee. The honor belongs to Kristin Luck, president of Decipher, a Bend-based online marketing research services company. Luck will receive a gift bag of entertainment-related items at an upcoming show at the Tower.

The Foundation has been keeping track of the number of patrons annually since the theatre was renovated and reopened in January 2004. “We’re honored to have been the home of Bend WebCAM for the past two years.,” said Ray Solley, executive director of the Tower Theatre Foundation. “One goal of the Tower is providing professional meeting space for the region’s top businesses. So it is fitting this milestone in attendance was set during AdFed’s popular annual conference.”

“Bend WebCAM is growing both in stature and attendees each year,” said Lynnette Braillard, marketing director for Visit Bend and co-chair of the event. “We’re gaining a national reputation as a must-do conference not only because of the high caliber of speakers coupled with cutting edge web and marketing education, but also because of Bend as a destination. It’s only appropriate that we host such a creative and tech savvy crowd at one of Bend’s most iconic landmarks.”

AdFed was established in 1989 by local advertising professionals dedicated to the industry and to the health of the region’s business community.  A membership-based, professional organization, AdFed’s 130 members represents a broad spectrum of specialties in the advertising field. It is governed by a 20-member volunteer board of directors.

The nonprofit Tower Theatre Foundation owns and operates the historic venue in downtown Bend. The Foundation’s mission is to provide performing arts, civic, educational and social events that enliven and enrich the lives of all Central Oregonians.

Program schedules and information, as well as group, individual and 2011-12 season tickets are available at the Tower Theatre box office (835 NW Wall Street; 541-317-0700), at www.towertheatre.org, and on www,facebook.com/TheTowerTheatre.
