It’s time again to sample the best buffet of Central Oregon’s decadent desserts at the Tower Theatre’s annual Tour du Chocolat, Friday, April 1. The centerpiece of downtown Bend’s First Friday events, the 2011 Tour starts at 5 pm with a “first taste” for Tower members. Doors open wide at 6 pm to welcome the general public. A modest $5 entry fee gives you four sweet tastes and a complimentary beverage. This year’s Tour is sponsored in part by Country Financial and Schwabe, Williamson and Wyatt law firm. All proceeds benefit the Tower Theatre Foundation.

Premium wine will be available for purchase during this drop-in event. Plus, if a professionally-crafted dessert catches your eye and sweet tooth, enter a raffle to win it in the ultimate “chocolate to go” contest.
Once again, a panel of local food experts—this year led by KBND’s “Cooking with Julia” host Julia Gray—will select winners in the categories of: Dessert; Non-Dessert; Yummiest; and Best Presentation. They will also anoint the 2011 Best of Tour, presented by Country Financial.
This year’s Tour marks the public debut of Clear 101.7’s morning team Sarina and Lonnie. The self-described “sweet and a little nutty” pair will host the evening, sprinkling the event with a mix of information and irreverence. Sarina likens the Tour to “being in a really big box of chocolates-–you never know what you’re going to get!”
Funds raised help further the Tower Theatre Foundation’s mission to provide performing arts, civic, educational and social events that enliven and enrich the lives of all Central Oregonians.
