The iconic and influential Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in country rock and American roots music, comes to the historic Tower Theatre in Bend for a special show, Friday, July 29 at 8 p.m.
Both their groundbreaking album “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” and their recording of “Mr. Bojangles” are in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Their multi-platinum records and top ten hits, including “Fishin’ In The Dark,” have received four Grammy awards and five Country Music Award nominations.
The current Dirt Band line-up includes founding members Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden, veteran banjoist John McEuen, and Bob Carpenter on keyboards and accordion. They are touring in support of their critically acclaimed album “Speed of Life.” Recent stops were at Bonnaroo Music Festival and Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble.
Nitty Gritty’s appearance in Bend is presented by the Tower Theatre Foundation and made possible in part by Performance Sponsors Steve and Cynde Magidson.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday, June 9 at 10 a.m.
