Introducing the Tower Cultural Arts Program

The Tower Theatre Foundation will be presenting a special program designed for families and students interested in the performing arts. The Tower Cultural Arts Program (TCAP) will present its showcase performance at the Tower Theatre on Saturday, January 20th. The program will contain performances especially for children by: B.E.A.T. (Bend Experimental Arts Theatre) with scenes performed by student actors from the “Miracle Worker” and “The Boys Next Door”; BodyVox, a dance troupe from Portland will present creative movement and dance; The Erins will play and sing traditional and contemporary Bluegrass music; Karen Therese will present Native American stories in an engaging and entertaining way. Tickets for this wonderful showcase will be only $5.00. Curtain will be at 2:00p.m.

Each of the performers are indicative of the caliber of artists the T-CAP program plans to present to the schools of Central Oregon in order to assist in the cultural education of students. Organized by Mr. Howard Schor, T-CAP has as it’s goal, to assist in the education and training of students in the areas of performing arts and to have them present their works and accomplishments on the Tower Theatre stage at the appropriate time. Much of the training and education will take place in individual schools throughout the area. Mr. Schor will be handing out specific information on the T-CAP program and its level of commitment to the community at the January 20th show. Please plan to attend with your children and find out about this new and exciting program of performing arts for students in Central Oregon.
