FIRST FRIDAY ART HOP AT THE TOWER
The Tower Theatre Foundation, together with the High Desert Art League will present ART HOP AT THE TOWER on October 6th , a special event featuring both a private reception and a public art show. Both events will be taking place in conjunction with the Bend Downtown First Friday Art Hop.
The High Desert Art League is a special organization of 12 prominent Central Oregon Artists who are dedicated to promoting art in general as well as their own efforts. The group includes Cindy Briggs, Kathleen Keliher, Vivian Olsen, Cecile Cuddihy, Helen Brown, Jacqueline Newbold, Barbara Slater, Barbara Hudin, Vern Bartley, Robert Pumphrey, Norman Frater and Jeffrey Thompson. The group creates work in a variety of mediums ranging through watercolor, oils, three-dimensional and photography to include subjects such as landscapes, birds and wildlife, historic scenes and florals.
For the ART HOP AT THE TOWER, members of the High Desert Art League have donated several works of art valued from $200.00 to $2,500.00 to be part of a special art show, sale and raffle. The group has also created two special “$1,000 gift baskets” of a shopping spree at Designer’s Fine Jewelry and Dining Experiences, which will also be available as raffle prizes.
The Tower Theatre Foundation is the non-profit organization responsible for the programming and maintenance of the Tower Theatre, the recently renovated arts facility in the heart of downtown Bend. Live entertainment is scheduled on a regular basis at the Tower that includes international as well as local talent. An independent film series and the Live At The Tower Series rounds out an ambitious and culturally diverse entertaining schedule which is constantly growing. The benefit in October will assist in accommodating user groups by keeping operating costs to a minimum.

Pianist Ms. Mary Rose Goodrich will provide entertainment for the evening and special eatables created by Breck Morgan Catering will add to the special atmosphere.
