WELCOMING COMMENTS FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Now that fall has officially begun and we are making plans for the upcoming Holidays, please remember The Tower. We have some remarkable listings on our schedule for this month and we are looking forward to seeing you at as many as possible.

Starting with the Art Hop at the Tower Benefit on the 6th and "The Series" of incredible films as well as the inauguration of our "Live at the Tower Series," the Tower will be literally jumping with activity for the next three months.

Please take a look at our calendar of events and pick out some great entertainment. Also, if you haven't thought about purchasing a "Live at the Tower" Season Pass, please consider it now. The list of shows is even more impressive than last season's and the possibility of gifts and sharing makes the Season Pass an even greater value.

Finally, don't forget that October is a special month for the Bend Film Festival. How can you go wrong with a great schedule and a warm, inviting place like The Tower?

Best Regards, Eli Ashley
Executive Director

ART HOP FRIDAY NIGHT

Art Hop is Friday night, October 6. Stop by the Tower Theatre for Art Hop at the Tower. This special benefit for the Tower Theatre Foundation begins at 6:00 PM. Working in concert with the High Desert Art League, the Art Hop at the Tower is proving to become an annual event of stellar proportions. The donated art, art for sale and the special gift baskets make this event a must-see. Not only will there be exquisitely executed works of art on display, but there will also be refreshments, beverages and entertainment as well. Raffle tickets will be available for restaurant sprees and fine jewelry. Proceeds will benefit the Tower Theatre Foundation. Please plan to be our guests. For more information, check out our special invitation at www.TowerTheatre.org/ArtHop.

THE SERIES: Showcasing Excellence in Independent Film

The Tower Theatre Foundation and Bend Living successfully bring a number of independent films to Central Oregon.

This month enjoy Al Frankin: God Spoke. This independent film will delight audiences that are familiar with the political ramblings of Mr. Franken and the "stuffed shirts" of all political parties he punctures from time to time during this amazing film. Americans may be unique that its citizens are still able to laugh at those we elect, often loudly enough to be heard. Click here to check out other SERIES offerings and to purchase tickets.

OCTOBER VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

October's Volunteer of the Month is Cherrie Mc Kenzie. She has been available particularly at those moments when schedules get crazy and things need to be done, NOW. According to House Manager Yoleen Faerber, "She is always willing to step in at the most awkward moment and to take on those jobs that seem to call for her kind of personality and ability." A dinner certificate gift will be presented to Cherrie McKenzie as a token of the Tower's appreciation. Thank you, Cherrie!

Volunteer opportunities are always available at The Tower. Please contact Yoleen at (541) 317-0700 if you have questions or are interested in participating or check out our website for more information at: VOLUNTEER.

Editor's Note: Tower Talk Editors regret that we misspelled the last name of our August Volunteer of the Month. It should correctly be spelled: Rosenbrock.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

The Tower Theatre is organizing a Family and Children's program. Howard Schor is responsible for bringing together the concept of education and entertainment, which will be unique to Central Oregon and coordinated through the Tower Theatre Foundation. Mr. Shor is presenting And a Child Shall Lead on October 22nd. Based on actual events, this is the heart-warming, heartrending story of the brave children held in the Terezin ghetto by the Nazis during World War II. For more information or to buy tickets, go here: 2:00 PM Showing or 7:00 PM Showing.

The Bend Film Festival returns to the Tower with a truly remarkable display of award-winning independent films from October 12 through the 15th. A huge review of the films being offered by the Festival was recently printed in the Bulletin. Call the Tower at (541) 317-0700 for more information or check out the Bend Film Festival website at: www.bendfilm.org.

Now, all you have to do is make decisions, plan your schedule, purchase your tickets online, sit back and enjoy!
